There are three basic components to Wind Crest's financial structure: a 90 percent refundable entrance deposit, a predictable monthly service package, and the benevolent care fund.
The 90 percent refundable entrance deposit provides financial security to residents and their beneficiaries. Those who move to Wind Crest enjoy the security of knowing their one-time entrance deposits are 90 percent refundable. Should they choose to move from campus, 90 percent of their deposit will be returned and, should they choose to spend the rest of their lives at Wind Crest, 90 percent of the deposit will be refunded to their beneficiaries.
A predictable monthly service package covers all the expenses associated with traditional homeownership—from property taxes and utilities to home maintenance and repairs—as well as a wide range of amenities, including meals at Wind Crest's exceptional dining venues, a day spa and salon, heated indoor pool, fitness center, game room, on-site medical center and more.
Finally, the benevolent care fund is at the heart of an incredible commitment that Wind Crest makes to residents. Through the benevolent care fund, the community provides residents with peace of mind that they will never be asked to leave their home due to financial hardship stemming from unforeseen circumstances. Funds are raised through a mix of annual and legacy-giving campaigns, managed by the Philanthropy Department.

"When you look at what's out there, we're a value player in the market," says Wagner. "What you get for what you pay is substantially more than you'll find at other communities."
That's the way Bill and his daughter Dee Koinzin felt when they visited Wind Crest. "We went all over the city, and the difference between the kind of reception we got here and all the activities and dances and concerts was much more than any of the other places we went," Dee says.
Loving life at Wind Crest
Now, Dee watches her father enjoy his life. Aside from his daily billiards games, he attends happy hour and dinner with friends nightly, takes part in campus events, and has served as an ambassador to others considering a move to the community.

As Dee's husband, Tim, says, "For someone who didn't want to move out of his house and move here, he's doing great."
Bill agrees that he's changed his tune: "It's really great living here."
