HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO (February 21, 2017) – Wind Crest retirement community's on-site restaurants, which recently underwent a major overhaul, have rolled out 'Signature Dining,' a new Erickson Living-wide program that features fresh, made-to-order menu offerings.
Signature Dining is the result of collaborative efforts between community members and dining services staff. Focus groups were held to determine which entrées residents most enjoy.
"This is one more evolution in dining for us," says Dining Services Director Marcus Cordova. "We have always listened to our customers and their families and this is one more step towards providing the best dining service program that we can."
Under the Signature Dining program, all food is prepared at the time of service, creating a more personalized and exceptional culinary experience.
"The advantages to Signature Dining mean that meals are prepared especially for residents each night when ordered, rather than being cooked in large batches and kept warm," Cordova says. "This program means the food will be hotter, fresher, and even better tasting."
Most of residents' favorite dishes, such as steak, pasta. and grilled seafood, are still on the menu, he says. But now, the flavor and temperature is even better because food isn't prepared ahead of time.
"We want family members of our residents to want our six restaurants to be their choice of dining out because it's exceptional as opposed to choosing to dine somewhere outside of our community," says Cordova.
The dining services staff went through extensive training in preparation for the rollout of the Signature Dining program, and they are using new cooking methods and equipment to sauté and grill food as orders come in.
"The difference is that the quality is much better," Senior Sales Director Jason Atwell says. "There are more dessert options, which are all made to order, and a daily drink special is now offered as well."
