June 10 "Decade of Dreams" Country Fair Extravaganza (Open to Public) Will Celebrate Wind Crest's 10th Anniversary

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO -- Wind Crest retirement community will mark its 10th anniversary on Saturday, June 10, with a "Decade of Dreams" Country Fair Extravaganza (free and open to the public). This event,  which will be held from 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m., feature a variety of carnival games, country-western band performances, and food. The Littleton Fire Truck will make an appearance and a Time Capsule will be dedicated. Wind Crest is located at 3235 Mill Vista Road.


Wind Crest, which is managed by Erickson Living, today is a leader in the senior housing industry. It has more than 1,200 residents and it operates at a 98% occupancy rate. There are more than 600 full and part-time employees who work at its 84-acre campus.


The community's health plan, Erickson Advantage, received a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Medicare Advantage health plan rating of 5-stars for Part C and 5-stars for Part D (2017). Mill Vista Lodge, the continuing care neighborhood, was recognized as the #1 Senior Housing Project in the Nation" by the National Association of Home Builders 50* Council (2014).

In the past two years more than $220,000 has been awarded to 90 student workers from Wind Crest's Student Scholars' Fund. Wind Crest's six restaurants have "Signature Dining," an Erickson Living-wide program that features fresh, made-to-order menu offerings. Burton's Steakhouse, which is named in honor of Clarence Burton, the community's first resident, opened this year.


More than 100 resident-run activity groups are within the community. These groups include: a model train club, a woodworking shop, a resident musical band, a golf club, a horseshoe pitching club, a 50+ voice chorale, and adult education learners with almost 500 residents currently enrolled. There are also iPAD, Windows 10 and general computer education classes. Over 50+ spiritual activities and a variety of 100+ fitness activities are held each month.
