OVERLAND PARK, KS (February 24, 2016) -- Tallgrass Creek retirement community's Post-Acute neighborhood has been named a 5-Star facility by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS rates each nursing home from one to five stars. Nursing homes with a 5-star rating are considered to be highly above average with respect to their daily provision of health care.
The overall rating is based on the values and outcomes in three areas: Health Inspections, Staffing, and Quality Measures. Health inspection ratings are determined from the last 3 years of both annual surveys and any complaint surveys. Staffing ratings are based on the number of hours of care provided on average by nursing staff. Quality measure ratings come from 11 different clinical and physical measures during a 12-month period.
"We thank all of our hardworking, dedicated staff that cares for our residents every day," said Associate Executive Director Pamela Haman. "Earning a 5-Star rating is a prestigious recognition, and one for which we should all be very proud."
