OVERLAND PARK, KS (May 16, 2016) -- As part of Tallgrass Creek retirement community's commitment to employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, it held a staff "Art in April" contest where employees were invited to create and submit works of original art with a diversity and inclusion theme.
Employees and residents judged the entrees. The First Place winner, Hope Mitchell (Dining), won with her "Branches of Diversity," which was created using a real tree branch with diversity slogans and subjects attached as leaves. Cara Freed (Assisted Living) and Joe Miller, Jr. (Security) earned honors for their artwork.
Some of the entries have been donated to Tallgrass Creek and will be auctioned off to benefit the Resident Care Fund.
