Tallgrass Creek Residents Contribute More than $82,000 to Hourly Staff

December 11, 2018

The holiday season just got a little brighter for more than 200 hourly employees at Tallgrass Creek, an Erickson Living retirement community.

Whether preparing a meal in one of the three on-site restaurants, serving as part of the clinical staff, or maintaining the scenic 65-acre campus, hourly staff work hard to enhance the vibrant retirement lifestyle of Tallgrass Creek residents all year long. Now, their service and dedication are being recognized through the community's Staff Appreciation Fund.

More than $82,000 was raised from resident contributions. 230 eligible hourly employees received distributions from the fund, less taxes, from Tallgrass Creek residents at designated times and locations across the community on December 5, giving residents the opportunity to say thank you to staff in person.

"Throughout the year, Tallgrass Creek residents contribute to the Staff Appreciation Fund in recognition of the wonderful work our employees do. It's just one way to thank them for another remarkable year of helping people live better lives," said Jean Landreville, Executive Director.

This year, Tallgrass Creek helped even more residents live better lives with the opening of Goldfinch Lane, the community's fifth independent living residence building, featuring 78 brand-new apartment homes in a variety of spacious floor plans.

The Overland Park campus is one of 19 communities operated by industry leader Erickson Living in 11 states throughout the U.S. Tallgrass Creek is located in Johnson County and home to more than 500 residents who are supported by a team of more than 350 employees.
