Public Invited to March 21 "Barrage Balloons and Buzz Bombs!" Presentation at Tallgrass Creek

OVERLAND PARK, KS (March 4, 2013) - The public is invited to attend a free Thursday, March 21, "Barrage Balloons and Buzz Bombs!" presentation at Tallgrass Creek retirement community, 13800 Metcalf Avenue in Overland Park, KS.
The presentation, which will be held be held from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m., will be a forum in which resident Cliff Rauch, a WWII veteran, will share his experiences in the European Theater.  Seating is limited. To RSVP please contact:
This presentation is sponsored by the Tallgrass Creek Veterans Club, which consists of 103 veterans.  The club's membership includes 45 WWII veterans, 43 Korean War veterans, 7 Vietnam veterans,  2 Persian Gulf-era veterans,  and 6  peacetime veterans. 
One of the club's members is a survivor of the Battle of the Bulge. There is also a female member who survived four years in a Japanese prisoner of war camp in the Philippines during WWII (her civilian parents were working in the Philippines when the war erupted).  Its members include a retired Army nurse who was in Vietnam and a WAVE and a WAC who served during WWII. 
Monthly Veterans Club meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month (September through May), from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
