Carl Scavuzzo, Jr is Named Executive Chef at Tallgrass Creek

OVERLAND PARK, KS (August 5, 2014) -- Carl Scavuzzo, Jr., a chef who has more than 20 years of culinary and hospitality experience in a variety of settings including restaurant, hotel and senior living, has been named Executive Chef at Tallgrass Creek retirement community.
Chef Carl is a graduate of the University of Kansas, as well as the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. His career has taken him to past employment with the Marriott Hotel at four different locations including Kansas City, The Art Museum Café (St. Louis), Hotel Philips (Kansas City), Scavuzzo's Italian Restaurant (Kansas City), Foxwood Springs Senior Living, and the Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
Chef Carl, who was born and raised in Kansas City, comes from a large family with a long history in the food industry. He works with orphans in Mexico and Guatemala, as well as with local homeless missions. 
Tallgrass Creek, which has more than 300 residents, sits on a 65-acre campus and is managed by Erickson Living.
