Riderwood Residents and Staff Donate More Than 100 School Supplies to Elementary Schools in Adelphi and Greenbelt; Drive Also Supported by Riderwood Lions Club
SILVER SPRING, MD (August 22, 2011) - A School Supply Drive by residents and staff of Riderwood retirement community in Silver Spring has resulted in more than 100 items being distributed this week to elementary schools in Adelphi and Greenbelt.
Cherokee Lane Elementary School in Adelphi and Springhill Lake Elementary School in Greenbelt are the recipient schools of the following supplies:
10 packages of glue sticks
11 glue bottles
4 large containers of liquid soap
4 packs of tissues
8 notebooks
16 boxes of crayons
37 spiral notebooks
11 composition books
4 backpacks
27 packs of pencils
12 Scissors
39 folders
4 packs of loose leaf paper
In addition, the Riderwood Lions Club donated $100 to the drive, which was held during the past two weeks.
