Riderwood to Kick-Off Weekend with Veterans Expo on Friday, November 8th

November 5, 2013

SILVER SPRING, MD--Veterans Day provides Americans with the opportunity to say "thank you" to men and women who have served our nation in the armed forces.
At Riderwood, the Erickson Living retirement community, a new event will reach out to the surrounding area to express our mutual and heartfelt appreciation.
On Friday, November 8th, Riderwood will host its first Veteran Day Expo to commemorate the sacrifices of veterans and provide information to them and their families.
With residents from Riderwood, members of local military service organizations have been invited, and the event is open to the public.
Additionally, students from John F. Kennedy High School will form the Color Guard.  Otto Munoz, a Riderwood employee who served in the U.S. Marine Corps, will provide his reflections on Veterans Day.
Riderwood is honored to have Gny. Sgt. Jason Turner of the United States Marine Corps as the event's keynote speaker.
Representatives from local agencies such as Serving Together and the Montgomery County Veterans Commission will also be present to provide information on veterans' issues.
Riderwood is located at 3140 Gracefield Road, Silver Spring, MD 20904.  The doors of Maryland Hall will open at 10am for breakfast refreshments, and the program will begin at 10:30am.
