June 18, 2018

Silver Spring, MD -- Thanks to the over 2500 people who live at Riderwood, an Erickson Living retirement community in Silver Spring, MD, 72 local students who work at Riderwood, and are either heading to college or continuing on with their college/trade school education, received the Riderwood Student Scholarship.

"We gave out 72 scholarships this year totaling $210,000," said Fiona Divecha, resident life manager, Riderwood. "The students become eligible for the Riderwood Scholarship by completing 1000 hours of work here over a consecutive 2-year period. The students and the residents build strong bonds of friendship. They enjoy their conversations, daily interactions and learning from each other. The scholarship program is a wonderful benefit for students working at Riderwood."

This year more than $216,000 was raised for the students mainly by resident contributions.
