Peace of Mind With Eagle’s Trace Realty & Moving Services Program

September 15, 2017

Houston, Texas--When Barbara Robins made the decision to move to Eagle's Trace from nearby Bear Creek in March, she knew exactly what she wanted.

"I selected a 2-bedroom, 2-bath floor plan with custom options," she said.  "It was ideal for me."

Ms. Robins, 70, needed some help with selling her home of more than three decades and moving into the Erickson Living retirement community.  That's when she turned to Haven Benoit.

The Personal Moving Consultant, Ms. Benoit leads the realty and moving services program at Eagle's Trace.  She provides prospective residents with advice on logistics of moving and coordinates services with a preferred network of Realtors®, downsizers and senior move managers with decades of experience in the Houston area.

"Our heart goes out to everyone in the Houston area impacted by Hurricane Harvey," stated Pam Burgeson, Director of Sales.  "Fortunately, Eagle's Trace did not experience flooding, and our employees showed incredible courage and commitment in making the safety of our residents our top priority.  In the aftermath of the storm, we are working closely with our priority list members and reservists on any special needs they might have.  Our realty & moving services program is a key component of this follow-up."

It begins with a complimentary in-home visit.  "This is such a valuable use of time as I get to know the customer and their specific needs.  We discuss what it takes to sell their house in the least amount of time with the optimal value," said Ms. Benoit, a native of Houston with fourteen years of experience as a Realtor® with a Senior Real Estate Specialists® certification.

Ms. Robins agreed.  "Haven was wonderful.  She listened to my goals and made them a reality.  I worked with Lisa Hudgins of Re/Max Northwest to price my house appropriately.  Within five days, we not only received multiple offers, but it sold above the listing price.  I was thrilled."

Preparing to move was the next step.  Ms. Robins used Lone Star Transitions, a Katy-based preferred senior move manager in the Eagle's Trace realty & moving services program.

"April 20 was moving day, just six weeks after I had reserved," stated Ms. Robins who worked for 32 years in the legal department of Conoco, Inc.  "They packed my house in the morning, and by that evening, my new home at Eagle's Trace was unpacked and pristine.  They made my bed, hooked up my computer and TV and placed every book on the shelves in the right spots.  Their attention to detail was amazing."

"We consistently work with our preferred vendors to make the experience seamless for new residents," said Ms. Benoit who noted that 90 percent of residents use an element of the program.

Connecting clients to a trusted team of Realtors® who are familiar with not only the Houston housing market but also Eagle's Trace is vital.  Sandie Parker of Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty is one of the preferred agents.  Having lived in Houston since 1968 provides her with the expertise about the local real estate market.

"Understanding the life transition involved is a big part of the process," stated Ms. Parker.  "That is why I spend extra time with future residents to build trust and ensure that all lines of communication are open.  Working with Haven is such an advantage as we coordinate services."

"Using my knowledge of the market to price a house correctly and stage when appropriate means sales can occur within days rather than months," she noted.

Five months after her move, Ms. Robins has taken advantage of all that Eagle's Trace has to offer.

"I walk my beloved dog throughout the beautiful campus grounds, learned to play Rummikub, and this fall, will be volunteering at Barbara Bush Elementary School," described Ms. Robins.  "Along the way, I've made many new friends.  It's all validated my decision to move to Eagle's Trace."

Clients using the realty and moving services program of Eagle's Trace are eligible for up to $2,000 in moving credits.  For more information, please contact Ms. Benoit at 281-496-7676.
