Parkville, Maryland—It's been said that "nurses dispense comfort, compassion and caring without even a prescription."
That spirit filled Erickson Hall at Oak Crest on May 9 as 90 residents and employees gathered for the 2019 Annual Nurses' Week Luncheon.
In total, there are 118 residents with a career background in nursing living at Oak Crest, a retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Living. In fact, the group represents 46 schools of nursing spanning 14 states and the country of Germany.
The community also employs nurses in its on-site medical center, home health department, employee health & wellness center and continuing care neighborhood.
The event featured a special lunch prepared by the culinary professionals of the Oak Crest Catering Team and a display of memorabilia that included photos, books and uniforms. The community welcomed guest speakers Gina Norton, RN, BSN and Kathy Smith, MSW of Gilchrist.
Special thanks to the resident committee, chaired by Bernice Lehr, who organized and publicized the 2019 Annual Nurses' Week Luncheon.
