CMS Provides Confirmation of Exceptional Performance and Services
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - November 18, 2013 - Erickson Living announced today that its health plan, Erickson Advantage®, has received a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 2014 Medicare Advantage (MA) health plan rating of 5-stars for Part C, and 4.5-stars for Parts C and D combined.
The Part C 5-star rating is the highest rating a Medicare health plan can receive for quality in five categories: staying healthy, managing chronic conditions, ratings of responsiveness and care, complaints and appeals, and health plan customer service. A 5-star rating is considered exceptional.
Other CMS 2014 composite measures highlight Erickson Advantage as one of the best for services, including being tied for second place for access to care and providing appointments and care quickly, tied for third place with getting needed care, and tied for fifth place with 30-day hospital readmissions.
"These outcomes are a true reflection of the quality performance of our entire health care model and team, as well as our interdisciplinary approach," said Matthew Narrett, M.D., Erickson Living's Chief Medical Officer. "It's rewarding to be among America's leading geriatric health care systems and to be able to offer choices in health care that help Medicare beneficiaries maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle."
