Hingham, MA -- Nancy Gregory moved to Linden Ponds in Hingham five years ago from Easton, MA. She has always had a love of art and design since her college days at the Rhode Island School of Design where she majored in Apparel Design. She had no experience with painting at all during those four years.
During her years of marriage and raising two children, Gregory found various artistic endeavors that occupied her artistic bent, but it wasn't until 1993 that she found her niche.
Oil painting classes were initiated in Easton by Mary Good, and it was then that Gregory began the work that she continues to love and practice.
Little did she imagine that 22 years later she and Mary would be reunited as residents and friends at Linden Ponds.
"I love to paint", said Gregory." When I moved to Linden Ponds I turned my second bedroom into a painting studio."
Many, but not all of her paintings, are from her own photography, taken of well loved areas in R.I., MA., and the surrounding islands.
Gregory, Linden Ponds' Artist of the Month, currently has 45 paintings on exhibit in the Linden Ponds Art Gallery, most of which are for sale.
"I am very happy living here", said Gregory. "Life is busy, fulfilling, and exceeds any expectations I may have had. I am involved with the Linden Ponds Singers and various other activities. But, my time spent painting in the quiet of my studio is the most precious to me."
