Hingham, MA – Fourteen residents who live at Linden Ponds in Hingham participated in the Quincy Senior Olympics and took home 48 medals! They participated in a number of events including: 1/2 mile walk, 3 mile walk, javelin, discus, corn hole and many more.
Linden Ponds resident Ed Petcavage competed in a number of events this year, took home nine medals and trained in the Fitness Center at Linden Ponds. He took home gold in each of the walks (1/2 mile,1 mile, and 3 mile) gold in javelin, and gold in the 500 yard freestyle swim. He won silver in candlepin bowling, darts, and standing long jump. And he won a bronze medal in the discus.
"Since moving to Linden Ponds and joining the fitness center I have experienced substantial physical health improvement," said Petcavage. "The fitness staff helped me developed a 3 hour per week program of stretching, strength training, and treadmill that has help me in athletic competition. I am always very ready to compete in the Quincy Senior Olympics."

"As the premier sponsor of the event we are always very excited to watch our residents take home medals every year. Many of our residents train in the fitness center at Linden Ponds. The Linden Ponds Fitness Specialists develop a plan for the residents and work with them to help them get ready. Whether it was on a treadmill, in the pool or on our bocce court, the Fitness Specialists make sure our residents are ready to compete."
