Hingham, MA -- Linden Ponds Employee Health & Wellness Department held a 30-day Charity Plank Challenge and Barbara Leary, Fitness Specialist, Linden Ponds, won $500 for the charity of her choice, Rockland Food Pantry.
"Employees were challenged to hold the plank position for 4 ½ minutes culminating in a Plank-Off on May 13," said Rosemarie Spada, Nurse Practitioner, Employee Health & Wellness Department at Linden Ponds. "The program's purpose was to challenge employees to achieve a higher level of fitness throughout the month and compete for the top prize; money donated to their favorite charity."
Leary came out on top holding the plank position for 6:01 minutes.
"My charity, the Rockland Food Pantry, is near and dear to me as I have been on both the giving and receiving end of their services," said Leary. "I am very grateful for assistance received in the past and am always anxious for the opportunity to give back."
Leary raised $250 and then Erickson Living matched what she raised and donated another $250 for a total of $500 to the Rockland Food Pantry.
Linden Ponds is one of 18 continuing care retirement communities managed by Erickson Living. Linden Ponds is situated on a scenic 108-acre campus in Hingham, MA. The vibrant campus opening in October 2004 and is home to 1,200 people who are enjoying life to the fullest.
