African American and Friends Group at Linden Ponds to Host Fashion Show

September 26, 2012

More than 20 Countries will be represented in the Show on Thursday, September 27 at 2pm

Hingham, MA -- Started a few years ago by Leroy and Marian Jenkins, the Linden Ponds' African American and Friends Group will host an International Fashion Show at Linden Ponds on Thursday, September 27 at 2pm at Linden Ponds.
"We started the group a few years ago because we wanted people to know that Linden Ponds is a diverse community and people with all different backgrounds live here," said Marian Jenkins. "Starting this group allows us to celebrate our background, share it with others and learn about other people's backgrounds."
The Fashion Show will showcase both residents and staff modeling clothes from more than 20 countries. The Linden Ponds crochet club will also model some of the hats they have made.
"People are going to be modeling clothes from their heritage while others will model items they bought in countries they have visited." said Jenkins. "We enjoy doing the show and each year we get more and more participation from residents and staff."
The Fashion Show will take place on Thursday, September 27 at 2pm in the Performing Arts Center at Linden Ponds.
