5 Questions with Linden Ponds Resident Lo Steele!

Hingham, MA – Lo Steele has lived at Linden Ponds, an Erickson Living developed and managed retirement community in Hingham, MA,  for 13 ½ years.  She shares her story and why she is so happy she didn't wait to move to Linden Ponds.

How long have you lived at Linden Ponds?  Are you glad you moved when you did?

I have been here for 13 1/2 years and consider it one of the best decisions made in my lifetime.

What activities and groups are you involved with at Linden Ponds?

I am a cohost for LIVE TV on Linden Ponds TV Ch 918 once a week. This involves finding guests, setting format and performing. I am also the Producer/Director of the Linden Ponds Repertory Company. This group has about 80-90 members and performs two large shows a year, as well as other smaller performances. Our 25th large show, "The Best of the Rep," will be performed at the end of January, 2020. 

What's the best thing about life at Linden Ponds? 

Safety, security, a caring administration and caring residents, all of which create a feeling of belonging. 

You recently retired, tell me about our teaching career?

I recently retired as Professor Emerita from Berklee College of Music. Previous to that, I spent 25 years singing with the Opera Co. of Boston, Opera New England, American Opera Company and sang at two state dinners at the White House (once for the original seven astronauts just before they landed on the moon). Other teaching included 23 years in the Brookline School System as a Music Specialist coupled with a private voice studio.

What would to tell new people moving into Linden Ponds or people interested in making the move?

Begin immediately to build a new life beyond Retirement Life. Your neighbors here at Linden Ponds will be a wonderful group of new friends.
