Highland Springs Opens New Independent Living Residences

Dallas, Texas—Meeting the demand for its senior living lifestyle and amenities, Highland Springs expanded the offerings found at its 89-acre campus with the opening of a new independent living resident building.

Named Pecan Grove, the project features 108 residences with nine fresh floor plans highlighting open-concept designs in luxury two-bedroom and extra-large, one-bedroom homes.  

Matt Neville is the Executive Director of Highland Springs.  "Last year, we welcomed new residents to Willow Ridge, an expansion of 99 apartment homes to our community," stated Mr. Neville.  "It is exciting to see the continued demand for the active lifestyle offered at Highland Springs with the opening of Pecan Grove.  In the coming months, we look forward to helping 150 new residents live better lives and make friends."

Residents of the Erickson Living retirement community began moving into the apartment homes of Pecan Grove on December 6.  Amenities include stainless steel appliances and granite countertops; screened-in porches and patios are options for a number of the residences.  They also have access to underground parking, an exercise studio and a restaurant with patio dining.

"These features were developed as a result of extensive feedback from current residents and customers.  Our goal is to enhance the convenience of living at Highland Springs by complementing existing services such as our health and wellness offerings," stated Mr. Neville. 

A climate-controlled walkway will connect Pecan Grove to the main clubhouse of Highland Springs where two restaurants, medical center, aquatics & fitness center, convenience store, salon and bank are located.  A continuing care neighborhood provides 96 residences offering assisted living, memory care, post-acute rehabilitation and nursing care services.

Dallas-based JHP Architecture is the project architect, and The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company serves as the general contractor.
