Highland Springs to Host AT&T Reconnect Tour to Educate Residents About Mobile Technology Through Interactive Workshops

November 9, 2012

DALLAS, TX---The monopoly on the latest tech gadgets doesn't rest solely with Generation Y.
Highland Springs retirement community will host the AT&T* Reconnect Tour, in alliance with Senior TechRALLY™, as part of a 15-city jaunt across the country offering tech savvy seniors and newcomers a fresh perspective on smartphones, tablets and wireless technology.
The event will take place on Wednesday, November 14th from 9am-2pm.  Highland Springs is located at 8000 Frankford Road, Dallas, TX 75252.
Now in its second year, the AT&T Reconnect Tour is the most interactive mobile tech workshop ever created for seniors.  Each workshop takes place over a full day and will educate attendees about the benefits of using mobile technology.  During each workshop, participants will learn about a wide range of topics including text messaging, apps, video calling, e-books and photo sharing.
Specially trained instructors will lead the sessions, walking attendees through the basic functions of a smartphone and tablet to teach seniors ways to stay connected to family and friends.
Among the devices available for demonstrations are the Pantech Flex, an Android smartphone that offers users a dual experience system that runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and the Pantech Element, an affordable 4G LTE tablet that is waterproof*.
"Mobile technology has really changed the way we communicate with friends and family and many of us have come to rely on these tools to stay connected," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president - Devices, AT&T.  "By teaming up with Pantech on the AT&T Reconnect Tour, we hope to help tech savvy seniors to expand their horizons and newcomers to feel more comfortable with technology and demonstrate new ways that can make their lives easier."
