Residents, employees give back over 10,500 service hours in 2011
DALLAS, TX--- Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote: "Right Now Is the Time to Be Kind...you cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late."
With that spirit in mind, Highland Springs, the Erickson Living retirement community in North Dallas, celebrated National Volunteer Week with a special pancake breakfast in honor of residents and employees who give of their time and talents to help others.
In 2011, approximately 175 residents, employees and community partners of Highland Springs volunteered over 10,500 hours both on campus and in the surrounding community, announced Barbara Blachly, Community Resources Manager.
Chris Emmett, Executive Director of Highland Springs, stated: "We are very fortunate to have so many people who share their gifts and talents with others. Whether it's participating in an international project like Kids Against Hunger or supporting a community partner like Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, I am proud of the generosity and resourcefulness of our residents and employees."
