Friday, May 24: Highland Springs Residents to Create Wave of "Red, White & Blue" for Memorial Weekend Tribute

May 22, 2013

DALLAS, TX--Residents of Highland Springs, the Erickson Living retirement community in North Dallas, will kick-off the Memorial Day weekend with a patriotic tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation's freedom.
Beginning at 8am on Friday, May 24th, approximately thirty residents will create a wave of "Red, White and Blue" by placing 400 United States and war memorial flags on the grounds of its 89-acre campus.
"We are so honored to have hundreds of veterans living at Highland Springs, and it's so important to always remember the courage and bravery of those men and women who gave their lives for our country," stated Barbara Blachly, Community Resources Manager.  "This simple gesture is resident-inspired and truly comes from the heart."
The placement of the flags will take approximately 30 minutes.  There will be colorful photo ops and interview opportunities with veterans of World War II and the Korean War.
Highland Springs is located at 8000 Frankford Road (Dallas, TX 75252).  For more information, please contact Jeff Getek at 410-456-9809.
