Greenspring recently hosted its 14th annual Holiday Bazaar. More than 500 of the Springfield, Virginia community's residents attended the bazaar, which was also open to residents' families and Greenspring staff.
This year's event featured 75 different vendors offering everything from handmade paper goods and holiday wreaths to jewelry and gourmet chocolates.
"We're pleased to have a more diverse group of vendors this year than ever before," said Dwayne Ward, Community Resources Coordinator at Greenspring. "Our goal was to provide our residents and guests with a wide variety to choose from for their holiday shopping and hopefully find a little something for everyone on their list."
About one-third of the bazaar's 75 vendors were Greenspring residents. "We have so many gifted artisans here at Greenspring, and this event provides a unique opportunity for them to share their talents," said Janelle Cesari, Community Resources Coordinator.
Among those talents on display were photography, art, writing, knitting and much more. In addition to perusing the goods for sale, residents also had the opportunity to enjoy a buffet lunch and participate in multiple raffles throughout the day. Raffle winners were able to choose an item from those donated by each outside vendor from the local Northern Virginia community.
"This year's Bazaar was a huge success," Cesari continued. "It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season and all of the special gifts we are fortunate to enjoy right here at Greenspring."
