NOVI, MI (February 16, 2016) – Hundreds of random acts of kindness are being celebrated throughout the month of February at Fox Run retirement community by residents and a staff. This celebration is part of the community's participation in the City of Novi's "Random Acts of Kindness Program." The goal is to spread good deeds to those living and working in the community.
Being kind at its core is caring about others and treating them the way you wish to be treated, according to Community Resources Manager Peggy Mather. "The little things really do make a positive difference in people's lives," she said.
Random acts of kindness happen all the time around Fox Run. For example, a neighbor helps to walk a friend's dog or picks up a carry-out meal when they are under the weather.
An employee goes the extra mile for a resident in need or does something thoughtful for a co-worker.
Sometimes it's just a warm smile and the right words at the perfect moment that can help brighten a day.
"Random Acts of Kindness" cards are being given to fellow residents or staff when they experience a kind gesture. Everyone who receives a card is encouraged to "pay it forward" by passing the card and a random act of kindness onto to a fellow employee or another resident or anybody.
A Leap Year Day (February 29th) party will be held to celebrate all of the kindness that was shared for the month.
