Director of Resident Life recognized for contributions to Novi retirement community
Novi, Mich., – Fox Run, a continuing care retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Living, has named Director of Resident Life Barbara Jablonski its Leader of the Year. Earlier this month, she was honored along with 19 other leaders, one from each of Erickson Living's communities across the country, at the company's Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Leader of the Year recognition is given to a director who continually demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities and inspires, motivates and empowers his or her team members to commit to excellence in serving Fox Run residents.
As the Director of Resident Life at Fox Run, Ms. Jablonski oversees Community Resources, Resident Services, Pastoral Ministries, Community Television, Intermissions, Certified Home Health and the Fitness Center. She is involved in all areas of life at Fox Run. With a natural pulse on many of the important happenings around campus, she serves as a go-to person for both residents and her colleagues.
"Barb has built a high-performing team that is always looking to raise the bar on services for residents of Fox Run," said Michael McCormick, Executive Director. "She is highly vested in Fox Run's success and cares passionately about making sure her team and other departments exceed expectations."
Ms. Jablonski has more than 30 years of experience serving in the long-term care industry. When Fox Run opened its doors in 2003, she was part of the original team and in 2006, was promoted to Director of Resident Life. She earned her master's degree in social work and graduate certificate of gerontology from Eastern Michigan University and her masters of business administration from Baker College.
"It's a tremendous honor to be recognized as Leader of the Year at Fox Run," said Ms. Jablonski. "Especially to be nominated by my peers, for whom I have so much respect and admiration. As a community, we had a very strong year with positive resident satisfaction and staff engagement rates, and I think that's a direct result of the way this team works together and the deep relationships that we have. I'm incredibly grateful to be a part of this team and this community."
