Flags Given to Fox Run Residents by Their Elected Officials are Dedicated

September 15, 2015

Novi, MI (September 15, 2015) -- A ceremony this week dedicated city, state and national flags given to Fox Run retirement community residents by their elected officials. The flags were requested by Geri Angel, chair of Fox Run's resident-run Political Awareness Committee (PAC).

An American flag was a gift from U.S. Congressman Dave Trout.  This flag flew over the U.S. Capitol on March 23, 2015.

A State of Michigan flag was gifted by State Senator and Senate Majority Floor Leader Mike Kowall.  This flag was presented to the PAC when the group visited the State Capitol earlier this year as guests of Senator Kowall.

A City of Novi flag was a gift from Mayor Pro Tem David Staudt and came equipped with an oak pole, a brass stand and a brass spear.

Fox Run administration provided a brass eagle for the American flag, the remaining poles, brass stands, and brass spears.

In addition, a fourth flag -- an Erickson Living /Fox Run flag -- was gifted by Leonard Gringlas, Director of Fox Run's General Services.

These flags are now a permanent fixture on Fox Run's Performing Arts Center stage and will be proudly displayed at all future community events.
