HOUSTON, TX---As Bob Crawford searched for senior living options, he attended events at Eagle's Trace, the Erickson Living retirement community in West Houston.
Beyond the lifestyle and amenities, it was the opportunity to ask questions of residents that proved to be a key selling point for his eventual decision to move to Eagle's Trace.
"The more I spoke with my future neighbors, the more I thought that I would enjoy socializing with them and making friends. They certainly elevated my comfort level," stated Mr. Crawford, a retired sales executive with The Procter and Gamble Company.
The folks to whom Mr. Crawford spoke are the Resident Ambassadors of Eagle's Trace, a group that is fifty strong. They are powerful part of the customer experience, noted Pamela Burgeson, the Director of Sales.
"Formally, our Resident Ambassadors assist us during sales events and with community outreach. These residents also shepherd our 'Live the Life' program in which customers try out the amenities of Eagle's Trace prior to moving in," described Ms. Burgeson.
"But most importantly, the resident to customer interaction is probably the most powerful sales opportunity we have," said Ms. Burgeson. "It is invaluable for our guests to ask questions of their peers who already made the decision to select a senior living community."
Eagle's Trace resident Marilyn Black agrees. Formerly of Katy, TX, Ms. Black serves as a Resident Ambassador. "Making the move is a life transition for all of us," she noted. "Our guests ask wonderful questions that mainly deal with everyday living. As residents, we've been in their shoes. We enjoy sharing our experiences and insight with them."
As for Mr. Crawford, the self-described 'people-person' has made the most of his fifteen months at Eagle's Trace. He was elected to the Residents' Advisory Council and joined the Drama Group and Entertainment Committee. Mr. Crawford's role has come full circle, too: he now serves as a Resident Ambassador.
