Getting to Know Jodie Schroeder, Sales Counselor at Eagle's Trace

November 20, 2019

Houston, Texas—Eagle's Trace, a distinct senior living community developed and managed by Erickson Living, offers residents a small-town charm with a full complement of amenities.  It's the best of both worlds, as Jodie Schroeder can attest.

Born and raised in Houston, Jodie has served as the Sales Counselor at Eagle's Trace for the past seven years.  She is often the initial point of contact for many customers as they see and learn about the community while exploring senior living options.

Jodie recently answered a few questions about her career and how prospective residents can learn more about all that Eagle's Trace has to offer.

Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job as sales counselor?

Jodie: It is not a job to me; it is a calling.  I absolutely love what I do as no day or no person is the same.  I love meeting with potential residents and helping them to change their lives for the better.

Q: What advice would you give to people when they begin to look into senior living options?

Jodie: Being organized is so important.  Do your homework, schedule visits to the places of interest to you and write down your questions in advance.  You can get a checklist of helpful hints on our website while you navigate the process.  Some communities will also let you stay a few nights so you can experience the culture and sample the amenities.

Q: Does Eagle's Trace have such a program?

Jodie: Yes, we call it "Live the Life".  When prospective residents join the Priority List, they are entitled to an all-access pass to stay in a guest suite, dine in our restaurants, take part in campus events and much more.  There's no better way to meet people and get a feel for what the Erickson Living lifestyle is all about.

Q: Are there any other benefits to becoming a member of the Priority List?

Jodie: Priority List members put down a $1,000 fully refundable deposit to reserve their place in line for the apartment home of their choice.  When their desired floor plan becomes available, they have first right of refusal based on the date they joined the Priority List.  Our members also receive invitations to exclusive events at Eagle's Trace, and they learn about special incentives and new growth before we announce this news to the general public.

Q: What can a first-time visitor to Eagle's Trace expect when they schedule an appointment with you?

Jodie: It will be time well spent with very clear and concise information about Eagle's Trace and retirement living as a whole.  We'll take an extensive—and fun--tour of the community and then have a cup of coffee as we discuss their plans.  I do a lot of listening!

Q: Finally, what makes Eagle's Trace such an appealing option for residents?

Jodie: We truly help promote health and wellness, and it shows.  Residents always tell me "they have nothing to worry about" and they are some of the happiest people I have ever seen!  We are proud of the vibrant, active lifestyles experienced at Eagle's Trace.
