HOUSTON, TX---Whether it's a friendly greeting in the hallway or serving a meal in one of the campus restaurants, the hourly employees of Eagle's Trace retirement community "go above and beyond for us every day," according to resident Elizabeth Holt.
It is their service and dedication that residents recognize through the Erickson Living community's Staff Appreciation Fund. The 2013 campaign raised $91,500 from resident contributions.
On December 11th and 12th, 264 hourly employees received distributions from the fund, less taxes, at scheduled times throughout the community.
Ms. Holt serves as the President of the Eagle's Trace Resident Advisory Council, providing her with a unique perspective regarding campus operations.
"The residents realize the value of our hourly employees, and the Staff Appreciation Fund is a tangible way to express our appreciation during the holidays for a job well done," stated Ms. Holt. "Because of the growth of Eagle's Trace, including the addition of the extended care neighborhood, we were able to raise about $10,000 more than last year."
"It's the personal interaction, though, that sets our employees apart. With just a quick phone call, I've encountered firsthand the willingness of our staff to share their expertise when an issue arises. As many of us experienced being on our own prior to moving to Eagle's Trace, this is such a comfort," described Ms. Holt. "In so many ways, they have enhanced our lives."
