Eagle's Trace Holds Power Lunch for Adult Children

August 27, 2012

HOUSTON, TX---As Pamela Burgeson sees it, moving into a retirement community has become a family affair.
"Nearly 85 percent of our clients have their adult children involved in some part of the process," noted Ms. Burgeson, Director of Sales for Eagle's Trace, the Erickson Living retirement community in West Houston.
For that reason, Eagle's Trace held its first Power Lunch in August for adult children.  The one-hour event was designed to accommodate the busy schedules of professionals.
"Our goal was to provide an energetic, informative setting that respected the reality of the work week," stated Ms. Burgeson.
Attendees dined on turkey pesto focaccia and Asiago roast beef sandwiches prepared by the Catering Department.  They learned more about the amenities, health care services and activities offered at Eagle's Trace.
"The most frequently asked question that I receive from adult children is about quality of life: 'will Mom and Dad still enjoy an independent and fulfilling lifestyle?'" noted Ms. Burgeson.  "The answer is yes.  Retirement communities like Eagle's Trace that encourage active resident involvement offer enriching social opportunities for people with common interests and experiences."
Another popular topic is how to help their parents downsize.  "Many residents have lived in their houses for years, and naturally, accumulated roomfuls of items," explained Ms. Burgeson.  "Downsizing is time-consuming for relatives so we share that Eagle's Trace has an accomplished realty and moving services program to make the move to our community seamless."
Adult children ultimately enjoy the peace of mind in knowing their loved ones are safe, surrounded by friends and senior living professionals.  "They are grateful that everything is here for their parents when they can't be," stated Ms. Burgeson.
Due to positive feedback, a second Power Lunch has been scheduled for the fall.  For more details, please call the Eagle's Trace Sales Office at 281-496-7676.
