Houston, Texas—Eagle's Trace, the Erickson Living retirement community, named Michael McKissack as its Director of General Services.

Mr. McKissack brings more than 20 years of successful program and operations management, both domestically and abroad, to Eagle's Trace.  Employed by firms such as the Fluor Corporation, Halliburton and the Compass Group, he has utilized his engineering training to enhance projects ranging from the St. Jude's Medical Research Center in Tennessee to the U.S. federal complex in Arkansas.

Beginning in 2002, Mr. McKissack accepted international assignments involving the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. State Department to provide logistical support for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Those responsibilities included base construction & maintenance, accommodations, dining and security for personnel serving in those regions.  He has traveled to 49 countries, immersing himself in learning a diversity of cultures.

In his leadership position at Eagle's Trace, Mr. McKissack will oversee the daily operations of the General Services Department that consists of 68 professionals responsible for the complete infrastructure and security of the 71-acre campus.  He will also interact with corporate and contract partners for special projects such as the opening of Galveston Crossing, a new independent living building, in 2018.

"As Eagle's Trace grows to meet the demand for our services and amenities, we are excited to welcome Michael to our family," stated Stephen Aigner, Executive Director of Eagle's Trace.  "His experience in high-level, strategic planning and operations across the world strengthens our team.  Just as important, Michael's career has been mission-driven, a perfect match for our culture in which we serve our residents and engage with employees."

A native of Meridian, Mississippi, Mr. McKissack attended Columbia Southern University.  He has actively volunteered with a number of charitable organizations throughout his career, including St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Diversity & Integration Council and Wounded Warriors of America.
