Houston, Texas—Eagle's Trace, the Erickson Living retirement community, was named #7 in the Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2018 awards in the medium-size company category (100-499 Texas employees).
According to the Best Companies Group, the survey project is designed to recognize the best employers in the state, the ones that make it a priority to create better workplaces for their employees. Best Companies Group and its partners, the Texas Association of Business and Texas SHRM, are breaking ground with this program.
The list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in Texas 2018 names companies with the best practices. An awards banquet, coordinated by the Texas Association of Business, was held in Austin on March 8 to recognize each of the 100 companies.
"Our employees are every day heroes. Watching them use their individual talents and passions to create a successful one-team approach is incredibly special," described Stephen Aigner, Executive Director. "Serving the residents and their families is our number one priority, and we do it with a mission-centered culture that fosters inclusion and celebrates life."
Vickie Antoine is the Human Resources Director. She has been with Eagle's Trace since 2007.
"We are honored to be in a position to enrich the lives of our residents," said Ms. Antoine. "But I've heard from more than one employee that being here helps them to 'live a better life' too. Whether it's providing tuition reimbursement for a CNA striving to become an RN or providing a mentor for a young dining server, we are committed to developing our employees so they may take advantage of the rewarding career possibilities presented in senior living."
"As our infrastructure has grown, opportunities for advancement have increased as well," she said. "I am proud that we offered more than 5,000 hours of training for our employees last year. Many of these sessions were tailored from their specific suggestions on what would help them succeed."
Eagle's Trace is a non-profit continuing care retirement community located on a 71-acre campus in West Houston. Its 825 residents are served by a total workforce of more than 475 full- and part-time employees.
