Garden to Table at Devonshire at PGA National

July 7, 2017

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla, -  At Devonshire at PGA National, Executive Chef Joseph Marinelli and the Devonshire Chefs Herb Garden Committee are harvesting fresh pineapples!

A few months ago some pineapple tops were cut off in the kitchen and planted by the Devonshire Garden Club.  A few months in the Florida sun and the community had a table ready pineapple harvested for barbecues at Devonshire.  Garden to table!

There are four more plants all ready to be harvested.

The Devonshire garden is designed to provide a variety of herbs and fruits, assisting Devonshire's chefs and culinary team with preparing fresh and healthy meals. Throughout the garden, one may find dill, basil, rosemary, parsley, tarragon, chives, mint, tomatoes, radishes, marigolds, nasturtiums, aloe, and Florida lavender, as well as a variety of fruit-bearing trees.

While the community members assist with caring for the garden, much of the regular maintenance is tended to by one of Devonshire's dedicated groundskeepers.
