Pet-friendly retirement community celebrates man's best friend
Palm Beach Gardens, FL—National Pet Day is April 11 and what better way to celebrate it than to have a celebration honoring man's best friend.
Twelve dogs, owned by residents of Devonshire, a retirement community located in Palm Beach Gardens, strutted their stuff and posed for the judges and audience.
"Devonshire is a pet-friendly retirement community, so we wanted to celebrate our four legged friends on National Pet Day," said Irene Malanga, Manager of Community Resources at Devonshire. "Pets, are for many, members of their family. We welcome residents who live and move into Devonshire to bring their pets with them."
The three-member, distinguished judges panel consisted of Jeff Berardelli, Lead Meteorologist from CBS 12; Sarah Peters, Community Reporter, The Palm Beach Post and Rebecca Wingardner, the daughter of Jim Wingardner, Devonshire's executive director.
They scored the dogs based on appearance, creativity, theme, execution and behavior.

2nd Place: Devonshire Diva: "Joanie" owned by Devonshire resident Dellie Rosen
