Community Members and Employees at Devonshire at PGA National Collect Hundreds of Items for Sailors Overseas

May 11, 2018

Palm Beach Gardens, FL –  Community members and employees at Devonshire at PGA National, an Erickson Living retirement community, have collected hundreds of items for sailors overseas.

"My son's ship was deployed in April for six months and I know they are always looking for various items," said Gayle Hills, Reoccupancy Manager, Devonshire at PGA National. "I thought it would be great if community members and employees put together a large care package from Devonshire. I know what the sailors need so we accepted donations for a few weeks."

Community members and staff donated various items including black socks, toiletries, mints, granola bars, handwritten notes, and much more.

"This is just one of the many reasons Devonshire is a wonderful place to work," said Hills.    "We got the word out and so many people who both live and work here donated!  We have an amazing care package being sent to the sailors and I know firsthand they will be thrilled and so grateful."
