CATONSVILLE, MD (May 12, 2015) -- A three-day Treasure Sale at Charlestown retirement community resulted in a total of $26,865 being donated to the community's programs.
Monies from the sale held May 7-9 helped to support the Benevolent Care Fund, the Staff Appreciation Fund, the Chapel Concert Series, Continuing Care activities, the Book and Film Library and the Harmonizers choral group.
Nearly 1,000 people shopped at the Treasure Sale. They bought items that included furniture, lamps, clothing, glassware, kitchenware, home décor, books, CDs, and DVDs.
"I always come to the Treasure Sale to shop," said Mother Emily Ann of All Saints Church in Catonsville. "There are a lot of good bargains here."
"It goes for a good cause," added Sister Christina of All Saints Church. "I enjoy shopping here."
More than 200 Charlestown resident volunteers staff the Treasure Sale, which is held quarterly in the Conference Center.
