CATONSVILLE, MD (September 21, 2015) -- The Atrium, a newly-renovated 3,000-square-foot restaurant with an adjoining bar and lounge/library, this week opened at Charlestown retirement community. The $800,000 project took four months to complete.
The Atrium, which is located in the St, Charles neighborhood on Charlestown's 110-acre campus, features American fare, ranging from comfort foods to upscale offerings such as tenderloin and lamb chops. It seats 118 in a main dining room, with seating for an additional 12 in a private dining room.
The Atrium has a new tavern bar area, a rich décor throughout the entire service area and a balcony overlooking the main dining area. The bar's lounge/library is multi-functional and the entire area is equipped with Wi-Fi.
Dinner is served Monday-Friday (4 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.). Breakfast is served Sunday (9 a.m. - noon).
The Atrium's design is by NFD Design and Charlestown project manager Jeffrey Parish. General contractor is Shade Construction.
The Charlestown Dining Services Department, which manages the Atrium, serves 2,000 meals daily from four full-service restaurants and two cafes. Its staff consists of 400 team members, of which 100 are student workers.
