CATONSVILLE, MD – A "Viva Las Vegas!" Gala October 17 raised a total of $65,000 net for Charlestown retirement community's Benevolent Care Fund, which helps residents who experience an unforeseen change in their financial situation for reasons beyond their control.
The Gala was held on Charlestown's 108-acre campus and it featured hotel-themed food stations, a Vegas bar lounge, Vegas gaming tables, a photo booth, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley performances, and raffle drawings. More than 200 staff, residents, vendors, and their guests attended.
"Residents at Charlestown are guaranteed a 'home for life' even if they outlive their financial resources," said Executive Director Clara Parker. "We are able to make this offer of security and peace of mind because of donations to the Benevolent Care Fund."
Major Gala sponsors included:
Charlestown Treasure Sale ($15,000+)
MacKenzie Contracting Company, LLC ($10,000)

Saint Agnes Hospital ($5,000)
