Calling All Golfers to the Winter Putterland at Charlestown

December 16, 2011

Two-day fundraising event features tournament, open-play miniature golf

CATONSVILLE, MD---Freezing cold and snowy fairways typically send Baltimore-area golfers with their clubs on the first plane to Myrtle Beach.
But there's a local alternative in 2012.
A real miniature golf course will be created in the Erickson Conference Center of Charlestown retirement community, complete with all of the twists and turns of a challenging layout.
And with it comes the Winter Putterland on the weekend of January 13th and 14th with two events designed as a fun test of skills for players of all ages.
The 1st Annual Winter Putterland Tournament is on Friday, January 13th.  Registration begins at 6:00pm, and "first putt" is at 6:30pm.  The tournament is limited to the first 36 foursomes entered at $160 per team.
The tournament will feature a hole-in-one contest and first & second place cash prizes to the top teams.  Food and beverages will be available.
The second event is Open Play Golf on Saturday, January 14th from 10:00am-2:00pm.  Registration is $5 per player in advance, $7 at the door.
All proceeds will benefit the Charlestown Benevolent Care Fund.
