April 13 Kite Flying Contest at Charlestown

CATONSVILLE, MD (March 21, 2013) -- Charlestown residents are now making their individualized kites for an upcoming Saturday, April 13, Kite Flying Contest on their Catonsville campus.
They will be joined by nearly 100 students from area schools - inclusive of Our Lady of Victory, Riverview and Lansdowne -- who are also now making their own kites.
The contest, which will be held 10a.m.  - noon on the field near the Charlestown baseball diamond, is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Catonsville. It will include the following divisions:
K - 2nd Grade Students
3rd - 5th Grade Students
6th - 8th Grade Students
9th - 12th Grade Students
Adults ages 55+
Prize will be offered for Most Creative Kite, Highest Flying Kite and Best Baltimore Spirit Kite.
The Honorable James Malone, Maryland State Delegate; Clara Parker, Executive Director of Charlestown; and Rosemary Wright, a member of the Catonsville Rotary Club,  will judge the contest.
