Hut, Hut, Hut, Hike! Cedar Crest Giants Fans Support Their Giants in Large Pep Rally at Community in Grand Fashion

Indoor "Tailgate Party" Featured Original "Rap" Video Including Residents Who Head to Indy...Sort of...

POMPTON PLAINS, NJ - The Cedar Crest Village Square Living Room was transformed into a veritable parking lot of sorts, one similar to the Met Life Stadium lot on Giants game day.
This tailgating zone was complete with stadium-style food, ball throwing, cheering and even some reminiscing for good measures.  But what made this "pep rally" different is that it included scores of Giants fans who have been supporters of the New York Football Giants for 40, 50 and 60 years - this was their walk down memory lane, and was a celebration in advance of what may be yet another title for team.
The BIG BLUE PUNISH THE PATS GIANT, GIANTS PEP RALLY was a party that also included the showing of a video that marries the tradition of Giants history with the present technology and pop culture.  The video was an originally produced piece developed by Cedar Crest Lead Television Coordinator Larry Curran and fellow seniors featuring veteran residents supporting the Giants in a "rap" video, which is now on YouTube.  The residents act and sing to the Giants rap victory song "We Are Champs" (See YouTube video:
There was also a continuous video loop of the Giants greatest moments, the 2007 Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots, a reading of the NY Giants history while tons of football music plays in the background.
Cedar Crest resident Rob Evans, who was the emcee of the event said, "The pep rally was a chance for the community to get together and have fun while supporting New Jersey's team!  A room full of ravenous Giants fans, many dressed in blue, without a doubt helped propel the team to victory."
"Cedar Crest is similar to a small town and this definitely is a Giants town," said Cathy Guttman, Cedar Crest executive director...and mayor.  "Our fans enjoyed themselves at this exciting rally as they painted the room blue and cheered on the team.  This was one party that was as memorable as the Super Bowl will be forgetful for the Patriots!"
Mr. Curran said, "We wanted to find a creative way to honor the Giants and our residents, who are very technologically savvy, decided that a video would be a great way for the entire world to see how Cedar Crest supports Big Blue.  Our team had a tremendous amount of fun putting this video together and we look forward to it going viral on the web!"
"Cedar Crest offers more than 180 different clubs and activities for its residents to enjoy, but when a timely event like a Giants Super Bowl appearance pops up, our enthusiastic staff rushes to put together a fabulous experience like this for the community," said Margaret Quinn, Cedar Crest resident life director.  "As soon as it became evident that the Giants were headed to the NFC Championship Game, we began planning a party that would support the team and create a wonderful time for everyone at Cedar Crest."
