Cedar Crest's Mountainview Gardens Receives 5-Star Rating

March 31, 2014

POMPTON PLAINS, NJ - Mountainview Gardens, the continuing care community of Cedar Crest, received a 5-Star Rating from U.S. News & World Report for 2014 and also voted a "Best Nursing Home" in the New Jersey by the national publication.
Each year the state of New Jersey inspects nursing facilities and rates them based on various categories which are reported federally to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Some of the categories include nurse staffing, quality measures and the annual Department of Health survey. Cedar Crest recorded its 5-Star Rating for the second year in a row, and received no complaints, incidents or fines.
Cedar Crest Executive Director Cathy Guttman said, "For years Mountainview Gardens has been committed to providing top-notch quality care for residents and this recognition is a prime example of the staff's dedication, professionalism and compassion. Our enthusiastic employees work day in and day out to ensure those we are entrusted to care for are done so in a comfortable and safe environment and that they are treated with dignity."
"The 5-Star Rating validates what we've known for a long time here at Mountainview Gardens - that we have superb talent working here within the community," said Director of Continuing Care Brian Alexopoulos. "We are very happy to be acknowledged for the effort we put forth, but the real satisfaction come with the job every day working with the residents and caring for them."
In addition to meeting the regulations outlined by the state which nursing facilities must adhere to, Mountainview Gardens exceeded them and achieved "Advisory Board" status. The advisory standards represent ways that facilities can strive to go beyond the minimum requirements to provide their residents with excellent care.
Mountainview Gardens offers long term care, short term rehabilitation and assisted living care. There are 82 assisted living beds and 113 skilled nursing beds at the community.
