On July 27, Cedar Crest, a distinctive Erickson Living Retirement Community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, hosted a Health and Wellness Expo. The event, sponsored by Atlantic Health Systems – Chilton Medical Center, featured information tables and a lecture on "Bone Health" by Dr. Cherise Dyal. Currently, Dr. Dyal is the only physician double board certified in orthopedic surgery and obesity medicine.
"We had a great turnout for the Expo with more than 60 residents participating," said Community Resource Manager Amy Wagener.
Healthy living is a hallmark of Cedar Crest's lifestyle. A key feature of this unbeatable lifestyle is the on-site, full-service medical center providing first-rate, proactive, and personal health care. Cedar Crest's partnership with Atlantic Health brings specialty medical services to residents by allowing them to visit physicians at the medical center, rather than traveling to doctors' offices. Located in the Village Square Clubhouse, the medical center is staffed by full-time physicians and medical professionals who specialize in senior care for residents. The medical center has a dedicated treatment suite for specialists from Atlantic Health. The areas of medical specialty include cardiology, vascular medicine, medical oncology, neurology, orthopedics, and gastroenterology.
Cedar Crest is one of 19 continuing care retirement communities managed by Erickson Living. The scenic 130-acre campus is located in Pompton Plains, New Jersey and is home to over 2,000 residents.
