Residents at Cedar Crest raised $242,646 for the community's Staff Appreciation Fund. The annual campaign is a way for residents to show their gratitude to non-management hourly employees at the community.
On December 8, Cedar Crest hosted a Staff Appreciation Fund celebration where residents were able to express their gratitude toward employees and help distribute donated funds to each eligible employee. Over 755 hourly staff members received a gift.
"It's one of my favorite days of the year at Cedar Crest. The residents enjoy giving this gift to the employees and the employees always graciously thank the residents," said Doreen Anthony, director of Human Resources. "As we do not allow residents to tip staff for any services, such as housekeeping or dining, it's a great way for residents to show their appreciation."
At the event, employees had the opportunity to contribute personalized messages of gratitude to the "Link of Thanks" paper chain. The chain is currently on display on campus.
