Cedar Crest Gets Seriously Funny For A Great Cause

March 14, 2014

POMPTON PLAINS, NJ - In an effort to raise money for the Cedar Crest Resident Care Fund, the community held an evening of comedy earlier this week in the Belmont Clubhouse Performance Arts Center.
The Resident Care Fund provides future financial support for residents who may find that they have exhausted their financial resources due to unforeseen circumstances such as long-term illness.
Performing was renowned comedian Billy Garan, who has opened for comics such as Robert Klein, Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld. In addition, the popular humorist and columnist from The Record newspaper Bill Ervolino gave a hysterical performance.
"We have a whole host of different entertaining activities and shows here at our community," said Cedar Crest Executive Director Cathy Guttman. "Bringing two top-notch comics here provided our residents with a great night of laughs for a wonderful cause. The crowd just loved both Billy and Bill and we hope to bring more of this type of entertainment here to Cedar Crest in the future."
The comedy show raised $450 for the Resident Care Fund.
