Increasing Senior Housing Demand Spurs Expansion at Ashby Ponds

Construction has begun on new residential building to open in late summer 2015

(Ashburn, Va.) - Ashby Ponds is set to introduce Magnolia Place, a new residential building at the Loudoun County retirement community, in late summer 2015.  This will be the community's fourth newly constructed independent living residential building to open since 2012.  With this addition, Ashby Ponds expects that the community will grow to over 1100 residents by the end of 2015.

Magnolia Place, a four-floor, 161,000 square-foot building, will include 83 independent living apartment homes.  Residents of Magnolia Place will be able to choose among thirteen of Ashby Ponds' most popular one- and two-bedroom floor plans.

"With each new building introduced at the community, we continue to evolve our offerings based on the feedback of current residents and prospective residents," said Henderson.  As a result, prospective residents are quickly finding that Ashby Ponds offers floor plans and interior design selections that meet all of their needs.  By year's end, 70% of all of the apartment homes available in Magnolia Place had already been reserved."We are selling out quickly, so we continue to encourage those interested in living at Ashby Ponds to sign up on the priority waiting list," said Henderson.  "When priority list members decide it is time to move, they are in a great position to reserve their preferred apartment home style and location." 

Some of the features that Magnolia Place will offer include covered, underground parking, a large courtyard, pond and tree-lined views, and easy access to the community's newest clubhouse, Great Oak, which will be open by spring.  Additionally, apartment home amenities will include stainless steel kitchen appliances, granite countertops, open floor plans, and upgraded lighting and flooring options, as well as fully sized, side-by-side washers and dryers.  Many of the apartment homes will also offer an outdoor living space with a screened-in porch or a patio.

The project architect for Magnolia Place is Baltimore-based firm Marks, Thomas Architects and the general contractor is Whiting-Turner
