Ann's Choice, a senior living community in Bucks County, managed by Erickson Living, held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting on January 10, to celebrate the opening of Chestnut Pointe, the new 50,000 square-foot assisted living addition to its continuing care neighborhood. The first Chestnut Pointe residents moved into the new building on January 7.
"Chestnut Pointe is a wonderful addition to Ann's Choice assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing neighborhood and will help us meet emerging market demands for excellent quality care for seniors," said Executive Director Chris Donati.
At the festive event, guests enjoyed refreshments of wine and cheese and took tours of the building. Speakers included Chair of Ann's Choice Community Relations Committee and member of the National Senior Campuses Board of Directors Barbara Bisgaier and Ann's Choice Executive Director Chris Donati. More than 100 people attended the celebration including Resident Advisory Committee members, residents, employees, and the first resident of Chestnut Pointe.
Chestnut Pointe is part of Ann's Choice multi-year plan to expand and renovate its existing continuing care residences, along with amenity spaces. The new building connects to the existing three-story continuing care building.
Chestnut Pointe provides 61 assisted living apartments, activity rooms, and a table-service restaurant among its interior amenities. It also features a large inviting courtyard where residents can gather with their friends and families outdoors. Chestnut Pointe's Bistro and living room areas provide convenient year-round access to the courtyard.
The new assisted living apartment homes range in size from studios to one and two-bedroom styles. Each apartment home includes a private, full bathroom and a kitchenette, and some will feature patios leading to the enclosed courtyard. Common areas available for use by all continuing care residents include media room, creative arts studio, living rooms, salon, bistro, games lounge, library nook, and fitness room.
Ann's Choice continuing care neighborhood received a five-star overall quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and for the fifth year in a row was rated one of the "Best Nursing Homes" by U.S. News and World Report.
When the multi-year project is complete, Ann's Choice continuing care neighborhood will have a total of 61 assisted living apartment-homes, 44 memory care residences, and 88 skilled nursing residences.
